About Me

A little something about me.

Hi! I’m Pournima, Pune based Nutritionist and Dietician. I completed my Masters from Symbiosis College of Biomedical Sciences, Pune and specialized as Diabetes Educator ( International Diabetes Federation). I currently serve as in-house nutritionist and fitness trainer in the most renowned gyms and hospitals in Pune. From the very beginning, I’m a fitness lover. I do yoga and swimming regularly which count for keeping me in perfect shape and benign health. I believe that diet, like clothes should be tailored. The genes in our cells are strongly affected by the nutrients they have access to, proving that “WE ARE WHAT WE EAT“. With my innate knowledge and expertise in the field of nutrition and dietetics, I offer personalised nutrition plans based on body types, culture, lifestyle and personal choices. I also speak in seminars and live workshops in Pune.

I have worked as a nutrition support dietitian and has built up an excellent rapport with all my clients. As I became a more experienced dietitian, my interest expanded in the area of nutrition support because I saw the positive impact that nutritional therapy had on the outcome of the people. I always strive to provide the best possible nutrition to each patient in the hopes of seeing the best recovery possible. It is so rewarding to see my clients achieve their fitness goal without starving in the name of diet.

I admit that one of the challenges I face in my job is not always being able to predict a positive outcome. Nutrition support plays only one role in the total care of the patient, and when a patient has, for example, multisystem organ failure, at times you have to accept the inevitable. The job I have is one in which I have more positive outcomes and joys than negative outcomes, so I continue to learn more each day to make the positive recoveries always outweigh the negative ones.
